Kennel Technician

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and welfare, providing a safe and nurturing environment for dogs, horses, sheep, chickens and other animals. This role involves working closely with animals, ensuring their well-being, and assisting in various tasks related to their care.

Duties

• Provide daily care for animals in the kennel, including feeding, watering, and exercising pets.
• Maintain cleanliness of kennels and common areas by performing regular cleaning duties.
• Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff.
• Support dog training sessions by implementing basic commands and techniques.
• Engage with pet owners to provide excellent customer service and communicate their pets' needs.
• Assist in grooming tasks such as bathing and brushing pets when required.
• Handle heavy lifting associated with moving supplies or larger animals safely.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a kennel environment is preferred, but not required. Will train.
• Familiarity with dog training methods is a plus.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks safely and effectively.
• Excellent customer service skills to interact positively with pet owners.
• Experience in dog handling is essential for ensuring the safety of both staff and animals.
• A genuine love for animals and commitment to their welfare is crucial.
