Job Title : Assembler, Technician

Grade : 3

FLSA Status : NE

SUMMARY

Assembly of one of our lighting tower units, which would include the assembly of the internally wired pneumatic mast that requires a certain skill, building the base where wiring and reading blueprints and schematic skills are a must, other assemblies would include building RCP's and lights where AC / DC knowledge is very critical, then all these items are pulled into our top-level assembly

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

  • Lifts heavy objects by hand up to 50lbs
  • Strong working knowledge of alternating current (AC) and direct current (DC)
  • Read and interpret blueprints and wiring schematics.
  • Splices wires by stripping insulation from terminal leads, twisting or soldering wire together and applying tape or terminal caps
  • Operate forklift or pallet jack to assist in loading or moving materials and products
  • Fastens parts together with bolts, screws, snap rings, rivets, or other fasteners.
  • Properly and safely use warehouse equipment that you are authorized to use to complete tasks. (Golf cart, pallet jacks, ladders, dollies, scissor lift etc....)
  • Operates hand drills, crimp tools, heat gun, grinders, staplers, pem stud machine, riveting gun, deburr tools and other common hand tools to assist in assembly operation.
  • Installs parts, such as shafts, levers, or bearings and works them to assure free movement.
  • Ability to work with various chemicals such as Grease, Loctite, Acetone. Denatured alcohol and other miscellaneous chemicals
  • Test or assist in testing operation of complete product.
  • Lays out, positions, aligns, and fits components together.
  • Assures part comply to drawing specifications.
  • Accurately clock and claim jobs using the Factory Track software
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Stand for long periods of time.

EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE

Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
