Job Summary:
This role will be responsible for overseeing and executing electrical and energy-field related projects within utility applications. This role involves providing field inspection and supervision support for utility infrastructure, ensuring compliance with contracts and specifications. The engineer will work closely with client’s teams, contractors, and stakeholders to facilitate smooth project execution. The work location is at a designated field office in Eastern Texas, and the final location will be determined later.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Oversee the installation and commissioning of electrical systems.
- Ensure all electrical work is performed according to industry codes and safety standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project objectives are met efficiently and effectively.
- Conduct field assessments, inspections, and troubleshooting as required.
- Provide technical support and expertise in utility infrastructure development.
- Develop reports and documentation for regulatory compliance and project tracking.
- Engage with stakeholders, contractors, and utility representatives to facilitate smooth project execution.
- Ensure quality assurance and maintain technical coherence throughout the project lifecycle.
- Complies with the Utility Company work rules, policies, and procedures.
- Actively engages with other members of the company to continuously strive to improve processes, create efficiencies, reduce costs, and increase profitability.
- Cooperatively takes on other duties, roles, or responsibilities, as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Experience in Electrical, Low Voltage/Communication, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Experience in the energy/electrical field working for a utility company.
- Strong understanding of utility infrastructure, electrical systems, and field operations.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Proficiency in relevant engineering software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication skills for coordinating with teams and presenting technical information.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work in various field conditions and travel to project sites as required.
- Familiarity with industry standards and codes (e.g., IEEE, NESC).
Education and Experience:
- A Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related Engineering Technology degree from an ABET accredited program.
- Three years of relevant engineering experience, preferred
- Strong computer skills with MS Office - Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk working on a computer.
- Lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
- Must be able to access various departments of a given location.
- Must have a valid drivers license and be willing to occasionally travel to job sites.
Salary Range: $60,000 - $62,000 annually commensurate with experience.
