Job Summary:
This role is responsible for leading scheduling and cost control functions for complex projects. This role requires expertise in project scheduling, resource management, and cost analysis, utilizing software such as MS Project or Primavera P6. The position will integrate scheduling and cost controls across project teams and departments, ensuring alignment with project goals. Preferred candidates will have experience in electrical utility projects, including generation, transmission, distribution, or substations. Strong communication, leadership, and team-building skills are essential to influence stakeholders and drive project success. This position will oversee a territory spanning Eastern Texas and Southern Louisiana.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, and oversee project schedules and cost controls using Primavera P6 or MS Project.
- Integrate scheduling and cost management functions across project teams and departments.
- Monitor project performance, track key milestones, and identify potential risks.
- Provide cost forecasting, variance analysis, and budget tracking to ensure financial accuracy.
- Optimize resource allocation and ensure efficient project execution.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to align schedules and budgets with overall project objectives.
- Prepare reports and presentations on project status, schedule performance, and cost trends.
- Support decision-making by analyzing project data and recommending corrective actions.
- Foster collaboration among teams and build strong relationships to drive project success.
- Represent the company professionally in meetings and field communications.
- Complies with established company work rules, policies, and procedures.
- Cooperatively takes on other duties, roles, or responsibilities, as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Electrical related bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum of 8 years of electric utility substation project management experience required.
- Must have 10 years of experience with scheduling and cost controls.
- Specific software experience using MS Project or P6 Primavera for scheduling and resource management and proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Demonstrate the ability to be organized and work on multiple projects and meet
- deadlines by setting priorities
- Must be able to prepare clear and concise status updates and reports as required
- Proficient in analyzing problems, identifying alternative solutions, project consequences of proposed actions and implementing recommendations to support project scope, schedule and cost objectives.
- Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Reliability, willingness to learn, strong attention to detail.
- Candidates should be self-motivated and able to work with minimal direction.
Physical Requirements:
- Walking, sitting, climbing stairs, standing for prolonged periods of time.
- Ability to work at a desk on a computer.
- Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds at times.
- Reach with hands and arms.
- Ability to operate and work in weather conditions such as heat, humidity, cold.
- Occasional exposure to fumes, dust, chemicals.
- Exposure to loud sounds and vibrations associated with construction.
Salary Range: $50.00 to $55.00 per hour commensurate with experience.
