The main office for this position is located in Eugene, Oregon. Opportunity for hybrid work is available.
Summary :
The primary focus is to provide safety & health support to our Eugene-Oregon based teams. The Safety & Health Manager will work closely with the Director of Safety & Health, to build a positive safety culture, and ensure compliance with Company and regulatory safety and health requirements.
Duties :
Collaborate proactively with teams assigned within region to effectively promote safety and health compliance and improvement initiatives.
Serve as subject matter expert (SME) regarding company and regulatory safety and health requirements. Support safety committees, and ensure alignment of local safety and health strategies with corporate goals and objectives.
Inspect operations, equipment, and work practices to assess safety and health risk. Order the suspension of activities that pose unnecessary risk to workers' safety or health.
Respond to incidents and support teams in the completion of required analyses and reports for events.
Coordinate and oversee industrial hygiene testing. (Noise surveys, chemical exposure monitoring, asbestos sampling, etc...)
Prepare training materials and conduct safety and health training for workers. Demonstrate the use of required tools and equipment during training as necessary.
Assist with the development of written safe work practices and procedures. (JHA’s, LOTO procedures, emergency action plans, etc…)
Prepare reports / presentations as necessary to communicate findings from inspections, incident analyses, industrial hygiene and environmental testing, etc. Recommend effective corrective and preventive actions, and follow-up with teams until complete.
Coordinate and / or support third party safety and health inspections. Develop cooperative working relationships with regulatory bodies and other third parties.
Analyze safety and health performance in support of the Safety & Health Director in developing strategies and programs, especially those related to risk reduction and process safety initiatives.
Track safety and health key performance indicators. Log data into electronic tracking systems as needed. (Training completion, incident analyses, corrective and preventive actions, audits and inspections, etc.)
Perform other duties as assigned.
Work Location / Responsible Area :
The successful candidate will work out of our Eugene, OR headquarters office.
Responsibility will include all Eugene area-based facilities.
Experience :
Bachelor degree (BA / BS) in applicable field of study preferred.
Three to Five years of applicable experience preferred.
Bi-lingual (English / Spanish) is a plus.
