Behavioral Health Clinician

Minimum Qualifications:
- Masters Degree, preferably in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or Family Therapy
- Licensed Social Worker
- Licensed in Mental Health Counseling
- Licensed in Family Therapy
- Valid New York State Driver's License
- Yearly Physical
- Ability to work with a diverse population presenting a variety of cultural, socioeconomic, developmental and sexual identities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in working with adolescents
- Previous experience in working within a substance abuse treatment program

- Multi-State Sex Offender Registry (SOR)
- NYS Division of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) fingerprinting

- Out-of-state child abuse register inquiry of any state in which the person resided within the last five years (if applicable)
- NYS License Event Notification Service (LENS)
- Office of Inspector General (OIG)
- Must successfully complete Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI)
Hours:
- 40 hours per week
- Must be flexible to meet the needs of the program
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the development of an individual treatment plan for each resident and family, implementation of the treatment plan, and subsequent transfer and discharge planning along with appropriate continuing care recommendations.
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate information on each resident in the statewide Connections system, including progress notes, incidences of family contact, resident contact individual, and group counseling, etc. as required by the New York State Office of Children and Family Services.
- Provide individual, group, and family counseling to residents and their families as well as coordinate appropriate family/resource visitation in conjunction with the Cottage Manager and Youth Care Specialists.
- Responsible for the selection, annual evaluation, accountability, and disciplinary process in conjunction with Human Resources on an as-needed basis.
- Responsible for training and onboarding of the cottage Case Planner, ensuring they understand their role.
- Responsible for assessing the Case Planner's work performance identifying areas that need improvement, and providing additional training as may be needed.
- Responsible for providing and documenting regular ongoing supervision to the Case Planner.
- During weekly Cottage Team Meetings, provide in-service training to educate and guide Youth Care Specialists in treatment interventions and supervise such service in consultation with the Residential Program Department Head.
- Prepare clinical reports for legal hearings and document any legal activity in Connections.
- Chair treatment team meetings in conjunction with the Residential Services Department Head.
- Provide administrative oversight of the cottage's physical plant and programming.
- Attend all meetings and training as requested by the Director of Residential Services, Residential Services Department Head, and Human Resources Department.
- Assist the Director of Residential Services in other delegated functions.
- Assist the Admissions Department with the intake process.
- Responsible for adhering to and performing all duties in accordance with every safety standard, practice, and policy of The William George Agency.
- Adhere to the treatment philosophy of The William George Agency and the rules, requirements, and regulations of the New York State Office of Family and Children Services.
