POSITION DESCRIPTION
Supervisor: Receiving Director
The Pantry Manager will be responsible for our Food Pantry program. The Pantry Manager directs pantry stocking, food distribution process, and client service done by staff and volunteers. The Pantry Director will also be a connection and support for the clients served, creating a welcoming environment for all.
JOB DUTIES
- Oversee pantry operations, including scheduling food distribution and ensuring smooth client interactions.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pantry space, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for clients and volunteers.
- Provide excellent customer service during pantry hours, assisting clients with food selection and ensuring their needs are met.
- Set limits based on client needs and ability to serve all with minimal waste
- Recruit, train, and manage a team of volunteers, ensuring a positive working environment and adherence to food safety standards.
- Schedule volunteer shifts and provide ongoing support to maintain efficient pantry operations.
- Track client usage while maintaining confidentiality.
- Provide information on other community resources related to food security and assistance.
- Oversee and create a positive environment for clients, developing relationships and being sensitive to needs. Utilize other staff and resources to provide support beyond food for clients.
- Assist Receiving Director in all aspects of pick up, delivery, weighing, records, sorting, storing, and distribution of food through the Pantry and USDA programs (TEFAP).
- Other duties/tasks as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
- High school diploma
- Speak fluent Spanish and English
- Strong communication skills - position requires the ability to interact and communicate with staff, volunteers, clients, and the community
- Knowledge of safety, storage practices, and inventory management preferred
- Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record
- Able to work as a collaborative team member
- This position requires walking, standing, sitting, and lifting boxes 50-75#
- Knowledge, experience, or ability to learn crisis management and de- escalation process while working with individuals in crisis or escalated situations.
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite, GoogleSuite
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: From $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 25 – 40 per week
