JOB SUMMARY
The primary role of this Supply Chain position is to coordinate the procurement process for packaging materials in support of The Wine Group’s bottling operations. This entails detailed item creation through specification development and artwork management, as well as the identification of requirements through inventory management and demand planning, and the creation, execution, and tracking of purchase order activity.
The specific commodity responsibilities will be predefined with potential annual rotation as necessary. Additionally, this role will be called upon to assist in the identification, development, and management of innovative, non-standard materials, and co-packer assimilation and management.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Supply Management
Manage TWG MRP materials process for assigned commodities, identifying requirements when comparing inventory against scheduled bottling activity.
Create and track purchase orders as required, tracking delivery dates against manufacturing goals.
Liaise with Suppliers, and internal planning and manufacturing groups in order to align deliveries to unanticipated schedule volatility.
Respond to requests from Accounts Payable to resolve invoice discrepancies and explain variances.
Update Cost Accounting with pricing changes.
Function as backup for other commodities as necessary.
Specification Management
Maintain, audit and update packaging database.
Coordinate and track specification revision activity.
Provide commodity specific consultancy to internal groups (Marketing/Designers/Warehouse) relative to materials’ functionality and suitability for purpose.
Support Product Development through new product launches, packaging changes, and materials discontinuance.
Quality
Partner with TWG Quality Assurance to address packaging non-conformance issues.
Partner with TWG Quality Assurance to manage the testing and qualification of new packaging materials.
Innovation
Drive the identification and evaluation of non-standard packaging.
Maintain packaging Database of Innovation, proactively managing existing and potential Suppliers to leverage their experience and field expertise.
Identify co-packer partners as necessary, coordinating assimilation into TWG processes on approved projects, from product development through invoice payment.
QUALIFICATIONS
Three to five years of experience within Supply Chain, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Warehousing, Distribution, or Finance.
CPG and/or wine industry experience preferred.
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Suite: Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, SharePoint.
Experience using JD Edwards or comparable ERP software.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

COMPENSATION
Hiring Salary Range Posted: $68,640 - $97,300.
Actual compensation will be based on factors such as experience; skills, knowledge, and abilities; education; and other position related factors.
