Summary


The Facilities Evening Operations position will oversee all Building and Grounds Maintenance for The Winsor School during the evening shift , and as needed before or after for certain projects and events. The Facilities Evening Operations position has working knowledge of all building carpentry, plumbing, fire protection, mechanical, electrical, HVAC, life safety and security systems to ensure proper operations and to be able to act upon any conditions that are out of the ordinary. The Facilities Evening Operations position will be responsible for ensuring that the Facilities are safe, up to code and fully operational. The Facilities Evening Operations position will also be responsible for contractor management, training employees and working with vendors.


Principle Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Supervise and assist all maintenance and custodial personnel

  • Support faculty, administration, and student community with daily needs pertaining to the facilities operations

  • Maintain inventory of supplies, materials, and equipment needed for maintenance and custodial work

  • Assist with purchase of building equipment for school buildings and make recommendations for purchase of necessary equipment and supplies

  • Manage all maintenance and custodial schedules and work routine, including tracking time off

  • Inspect facilities to ensure that they are safe, operational and clean

  • Conduct routine inspections of building for maintenance and custodial services

  • Coordinate all in house deliveries – UPS, FedEx, and USPS

  • Assist in Boston Fire Department quarterly inspections

  • Supervise campus landscaping including ice and snow removal

  • Work with outside vendors and contractors

  • Respond to emergencies on a 24 hour basis as needed

  • Interface with security personnel as needed

  • Complete work requests from School Dude system

  • Provide input to the Director in preparation for annual operating and capital budgets

  • Supervise and participate in facility set-up and break down for a variety of events throughout the year

  • Assist in field preparation for external rentals and school events

  • Assist in school-wide fire and “safe mode” drills

  • Coordinate campus parking for staff and guests including event parking involving off site facilities

  • Coordinate traffic control for student drop off and pick up

  • Coordinate fleet daily operations and maintenance

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Facilities & Construction

Requirements and Qualifications:


  • High School degree required; Bachelor’s degree or Facilities Certification preferred

  • 5-7 years of previous experience Facilities operations

  • Able to multitask, prioritize and manage time efficiently

  • Ability to establish, mentor and maintain effective working relationships with Team

  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions; ability to direct the work of others

  • Self-motivated and self-directed

  • Must be able to work flexible hours based upon weather and school event schedule, including, morning, afternoon, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Familiar with and able to use various technology systems (Microsoft Office, Google Office software, and School Dude)

  • Massachusetts state driver's license

  • Must pass background checks including Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI), SORI screening and State mandated fingerprint screening

  • Certifications in CPR, AED, First Aid and Blood Borne Pathogens
