The Women's Healthcare Group is seeking a Benefits Specialist committed to continuing our tradition of excellent patient-centered care. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of health insurance benefits/payment plans. This position works as part of our front office team and also assists with front desk tasks such as answering phone calls, checking in and checking out as needed. With superior professionalism and communication skills, you're driven by a desire to help make patients' healthcare experiences as comfortable, efficient, and rewarding as possible.
Full Time M-F. Starting wage range $16-$20/hr.

Daily Responsibilities include:
- Checking insurance benefits for patients prior to their appointments
- Communicating to patients their financial obligations in a professional manner
- Registering new patient referrals/calling to obtain insurance information
- Collecting co-pays and payments at check-in and check-out
- Scanning patient documents into electronic health record
- Pre-certification back-up
- Greet and welcome patients & visitors (in person & on the phone) - back up
- Register patients according to established protocols
- Assist patients to complete all necessary forms and documentation
- Answer incoming calls, schedule appointments, transfer calls as required
Required Work Experience & Education:
- High school degree; additional certification a plus
- Proven work experience as a Benefits Specialist, Medical Biller or Office Receptionist
- Pre-certification experience preferred
- Hands-on experience with office equipment (fax machines / printers)
- Knowledge of computer and relevant software applications
- Solid, professional written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures and diagnosis preferred.
- Working knowledge of healthcare insurance required
