Retail Sales Associate/Customer Service

Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic sales associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for human interaction and a willingness to learn about hardwood lumber and its properties. This role involves engaging with customers, offering project assistance and lumber recommendations, and assisting with warehouse organization. You will be responsible for maintaining relations with customers, being on your feet and ready to help, and learning about hardwood lumber and woodworking.

Responsibilities

• Be present on the floor and efficiently engage customers.
• Learn about hardwood lumber and be ready to answer customers' questions.
• Discuss a variety of wood options with customers and offer advice and assistance when necessary, helping them find what they need and getting it into their vehicle.
• Maintain organization and cleanliness in the storefront.
• Collaborate with the team to maintain our reputation for quality customer service.

Requirements

• Proven experience in sales and customer service.
• Ability to converse professionally and calmly with the public.
• Familiarity with hardwood lumber species and basic woodworking. (We will train you in this)
• Ability to stay on your feet and moving for extended periods of time.
• Experience with technology to maintain inventory, check out customers, and maintain communication with clients via phone/email.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on building long-term relationships.
• Self-motivated with a results-oriented mindset and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
