We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Activity Assistant to join our team in providing engaging and meaningful activities for residents in our assisted living facility. Duties
- Plan, organize, and implement a variety of activities that promote socialization, cognitive stimulation, and physical engagement for residents.
- Assist residents in participating in activities, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout.
- Collaborate with nursing staff and social workers to tailor activities to meet the specific needs of residents.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to encourage participation and gather feedback on activities.
- Maintain accurate records of resident participation and progress in various programs.
- Provide support during special events and outings, ensuring all logistics are managed efficiently.
- Foster a warm and welcoming environment that encourages resident interaction and engagement.
Requirements
- Previous experience in event planning or organizing activities within a healthcare or assisted living setting is preferred.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and team members.
- Ability to assist residents with varying levels of mobility and cognitive function.
- A background in social work or related fields is a plus.
