Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Laboratory Research Scientist to join our team at The Woodlands Specialty Hospital. As a key member of our research department, you will play a crucial role in supporting our efforts to identify potential drug or biologic candidates for efficacy against disease.
About the Role:
- You will work closely with our clinical team to provide laboratory services as directed by physicians and/or nurse managers.
- You will generate data from various laboratory techniques and analytic instrumentation, including Hematology and Chemistry.
- You will participate in experiments designed to evaluate the effectiveness of new methodology by running batch samples against libraries of known substances, controls, and calibrators.
- You will adhere to industry and government standards regarding technique and safe handling of biohazards materials/specimens.
- You will calibrate analytical instrumentation, tabulate and graph data, and prepare technical reports for Lead Lab Tech/Lab Manager.
- You will access data acquisition software, enter data in multiple sites (e.g., Proficiency testing institute), maintain laboratory notebooks, archives, and sample/specimen repository.

Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent; one to two years related experience and/or training preferred.
- Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliation to keep abreast of the latest trends in the field of expertise.
- Seeks feedback to enhance own performance.
- Completes annual educational requirements.
Estimated Salary Range:
$55,000 - $70,000 per year, depending on qualifications and location.
