Summary of Duties: Under the immediate supervision of a Parks Supervisor, Foreman or a Crew leader perform skilled and semi-skilled work related to maintenance and renovation of parks and recreation facilities, grounds, pathways, and landscape.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform duties in support of development and maintenance of parks, pools, grounds, wooded reserves, and sport fields e.g., mowing, edging, fertilizing, seeding, pruning, planting, and/ or removing weeds, trees and shrubs, clearing right-of-way areas and drainage with appropriate equipment.
- Gather and dispose of debris and dead animals.
- Operate and maintain lawn mowers, sod cutters, chainsaws, tree trimmers and chippers, air compressors, backhoes, farm tractors, forklifts, and other various hand and job-related power tools.
- Participates in emergency response teams.
- Must meet and maintain the requirements of the driver safety policy.
- Employee may be required to work special events on nights, weekends or holidays.
- Other duties as assigned.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles, outside weather conditions, extreme heat, and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and the risk of electrical shock. The employee is rarely exposed to high, precarious places; extreme cold; and explosives.
Disagreeable: Frequent exposure to unpleasant environmental conditions and/or hazards. The majority of work performed outside or with exposure to risk and frequent physical effort is required. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Minimum Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Knowledge of: Entry level knowledge of drainage, operate required tools/equipment, landscape installation and maintenance are a plus.
Experience: Operate and maintain lawn mowers, lawn edgers, UTV and mechanical blower, brush/tree trimmers and chippers, air compressors, backhoes, farm tractors, vehicles up to 26000 GVWR, various hand and job-related power tools. Entry level knowledge to concrete, minor carpentry work, and landscape installation and maintenance are a plus.
Licenses and Certifications: Must have a valid driver's license and meet the driver safety policy requirements.
