What are the responsibilities and job description for the Recreation Aide - Boat House 2025 Season position at The Woodlands Township?
Summary of Duties: Provides customer service to patrons and clerical support by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work outdoors in variable weather conditions.
- Scheduled work locations include both the Riva Row and Lakes Edge Boat House(s) and Swans at the Mall.
- Always works under supervision.
- Welcome and assist visitors or direct them to the appropriate staff member.
- Perform cash handling duties, make change, and input fees and issues receipts. Record amount received and prepare report of transactions using computer software.
- Monitor users of Boat House facilities and participants in recreation programs to ensure orderly conduct.
- Assist patrons in and out of the watercraft.
- Provide information on programs, activities and events in person or by phone.
- Utilize company software to enroll customers in programs.
- Perform facility opening and closing procedures, such as ensuring the facility is secure, and set-up and break-down for programs, equipment is picked-up etc.
- Assist with recreation programs, activities, special projects and events as required.
- Must meet and maintain the requirements of the driver safety policy.

Education: Less than high school education.
Experience: No related experience or training required.
Scheduling and Physical Demands:
- Must be available to work a schedule that will include morning, afternoon and evening hours, weekends and holidays.
- Position requires heavy lifting or moving of the kayaks of up to 100 pounds.
- Must be able to work CISD Spring Break (March 8-16, 2025)
- Must be able to work the following holiday weekends: Memorial Day weekend, Independence Day, and Labor Day weekend.
- Must be 16 years of age or older by March 8, 2025.
Age Requirement: Must be 16 years of age or older by hire date.
Safety-Sensitive: This position is a safety sensitive position and is subject to random drug testing.
