About the company:

Worden is a 75-year-old wood furniture manufacturer. Under its new leadership Worden has seen growth and aspires to continue their growth trajectory in both the short and long term.

Worden designs and produces wood furniture for libraries, learning, working, and living spaces. Specialties include veneer, laminate, and solid wood standard products combined with custom products, and hand-applied finishes.

Position Summary:

Provides our CNC Machine Center leadership in safety, quality, team performance, production control boards, training, and preventive maintenance. Ensures team is working towards company goals and objectives.

Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Your primary responsibility will be to program and operate our CNC machines.

2. We are looking for someone that enjoys working on a team, likes manufacturing, and enjoys the challenge of solving problems.

3. Experience in an advanced wood manufacturing setting using CNC and other automated equipment.

4. Experience reading Engineering drawings and shop floor paperwork.

5. CAD experience – especially using Pro/Engineer

6. Strong communications skills- keen eye to recognize a problem and be able to communicate effectively and help in overcoming the issue.

7. Works with co-workers, line leaders, and area manager to improve processes and product quality

8. Ability to follow standard work procedures and adhere to processes

9. Willing to cross train and work in other areas (edge banding, sanding, etc.)

10. Develop teamwork by establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with all employees.

11. Perform other duties as assigned

Qualification Requirements
1. 3-5 years’ experience in CNC Operation and/or programming
2. Engineering experience, CNC Operator, or Auto Cad/ CNC programing software are acceptable.
3. Ability to read, comprehend and correctly interpret manufacturing production paperwork
4. Attention to detail. Ability to consistently perform manual labor, heavy lifting, and to sustain physical work activities, such as lifting up to 50 lbs alone or over 50 lbs with a partner, standing, bending and walking
6. Good attendance, work performance and safety records
7. Ability to apply common sense to understand and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
8. Ability to work extra hours as needed, sometimes on short notice

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $25.00 per hour
