We are looking to hire a campaign director who would be a critical component of our external facing support team responsible for taking initiative on key partner services. In this role, you will create strategies and execute on them to drive media awareness and build power for the organizations we work with. You will work alongside a small team of expert colleagues and lead the day to day account flow by overseeing client relations. The campaign director is responsible for supporting the development and execution of The Worker Agency’s objectives and scope of services on behalf of our clients.
Role location:
- On Site in Berkeley,CA Office: Monday through Thursday
- Work From Home: Fridays
Key Areas of Responsibility:
- Lead the development and execution of large-scale political and communications strategies
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of the history, culture, operating rhythms, etc. of assigned clients, staying up to date on relevant news cycles and developing personalized and differentiated approaches to each client and its constituents.
- Overall responsibility for delivering on the agreed upon scope of work for clients
- Strong ability to write a range of materials including, but not limited to op-eds, pitches, statements, social media posts, briefing notes, memos, research, messaging etc
- Excellent ability to place stories, demonstrating resilience and ingenuity to secure successful outcomes for clients.
- Create and manage relationships with reporters in beats relevant to the clients serviced.
- Build awareness of The Worker Agency, its mission, operations and recruitment needs solidifying the relationship between members of The Worker Agency teams and its various clients and stakeholders
- Suggest processes and practices to improve company culture and processes to help us our achieve our vision of becoming the most impactful advocacy agency in the United States
- Assist in attracting and retaining new business
- Administrative tasks as needed and other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- 7-10 year previous experience in a political communication and/or public relations capacity
- At least 1 year of experience managing a client team or equivalent
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment to accomplish team goals
- Proven record of establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with individuals and groups having diverse interests and backgrounds in both managerial and non managerial settings
- Excellent people skills, negotiation, analytical, organizational, project and time management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills required, including public speaking and presentation skills
- Strong time management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
- A practice of tenacity and creativity to tackle complex problems
- A commitment to honesty, accountability and humility when navigating work with clients and internally at The Worker Agency
