Summary :
Workforce Group (WFG) is seeking experienced Engineers to support rebuilding efforts following Hurricane Helene and Milton. This role involves assessing, designing, and reviewing structural and civil engineering plans to ensure compliance with Florida building codes, FEMA regulations, and other applicable standards. The ideal candidate will hold an active Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of Florida and have experience in structural, civil, or disaster recovery engineering.

Responsibilities :
- In accordance with Florida Statute 471.045, licensed engineers are authorized to develop, review, and approve plans for rebuilding efforts, ensuring compliance with the Florida Building Code, FEMA guidelines, and zoning regulations.
- In accordance with Florida Statute 471.045, licensed engineers may perform building code inspection services for local governments or state agencies. Responsibilities include conducting field assessments and inspections of damaged structures to evaluate safety, structural integrity, and compliance with the Florida Building Code, FEMA guidelines, and zoning regulations.
- Assess structural integrity and safety of buildings and infrastructure impacted by the disaster.
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, and local permitting authorities to streamline project approvals and expedite rebuilding.
- Provide technical guidance on construction best practices, material selection, and structural reinforcements to enhance resilience.
- Conduct field assessments and inspections of damaged structures to recommend rehabilitation or reconstruction strategies.
- Assist permitting staff, design professionals, and contractors with code compliance and regulatory questions.
- Prepare detailed engineering reports, assessments, and recommendations for infrastructure recovery projects.
- Identify potential hazards or weaknesses in proposed designs and suggest corrective measures.
- Perform other related job duties as assigned.
Qualifications : Must hold Florida Licensed Professional Engineer (PE). Minimum of two (2) years of experience in structural, civil, or construction engineering.
