Assistant Designer

A leading private label apparel company specializing in mass market, trend-driven clothing is in search of a full time Assistant Designer. This role is 5 days-onsite.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and creative Assistant Designer to join our design team. This role is ideal for someone with a keen eye for fashion, strong sketching and CAD skills, and a passion for design. You will work closely with the design director to develop seasonal collections, create technical sketches, and support the entire design process from concept to production.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in designing and developing private label collections based on client needs and market trends.
• Create detailed technical sketches, flats, and CADs using Adobe Illustrator.
• Prepare presentation boards, color palettes, and trend research reports.
• Collaborate with the design and production teams to ensure accuracy in design execution.
• Assist in sourcing fabrics, trims, and materials in alignment with seasonal trends.
• Maintain organized design files, tech packs, and line sheets for internal and client use.
• Support sample development by coordinating with factories and reviewing fit samples.
• Attend fittings, take detailed notes, and provide input on adjustments.
• Stay up to date on industry trends, competitors, and emerging styles.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or a related field.
• 1-2 years of experience in apparel design, preferably in private label or fast fashion.
• Strong sketching ability and proficiency in Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop.
• Knowledge of garment construction, fabrics, and technical specifications.
• Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• A proactive and team-oriented mindset with a passion for fashion.
  
  

This role is onsite in Downtown Los Angeles

Salary: 55-60k DOE
