Demand Planner

Our client - a premium denim and womens apparel brand based near Downtown LA, is in search of a full time Demand Planner. This is an excellent position for someone with WHOLESALE Planning experience, which can also cross over into buying. You will work closely with the internal sales team and global sales teams to asses demand and react to shifts in the market as you see fit. You will work on a team of Planners, with a wonderful mentor and leader. This is a HYBRID role with flexibility for someone with excellent time management skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Demand Forecasting & Planning:

• Create and manage demand forecasts by analyzing historical data, market trends, and sales feedback.
• Collaborate closely with sales and marketing to ensure accuracy in monthly and seasonal forecasts, balancing stock levels to avoid shortages or excess.
• Identify growth opportunities and potential risks by analyzing purchasing patterns and market shifts.

Inventory Management:

• Track inventory levels and place orders to ensure product availability aligns with customer demand.
• Partner with production and logistics teams to ensure timely and efficient product delivery.
• Optimize inventory levels across wholesale, retail, and e-commerce channels by monitoring stock movements and stock turns.

Collaboration with Sales & Marketing:

• Work closely with sales teams to understand demand drivers such as promotions, new launches, and seasonal trends.
• Ensure alignment of forecasts with upcoming product launches and marketing campaigns.

Data Analysis & Reporting:

• Regularly track and compare sales performance against forecasts, identifying areas for improvement.
• Generate comprehensive reports on inventory, sales, and forecast accuracy for leadership.
• Use demand planning software and advanced Excel techniques to provide data-driven insights.

Process Improvement:

• Proactively suggest and implement improvements to forecasting and planning processes, enhancing efficiency and accuracy.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

• Build strong relationships with production, logistics, and customer service teams to align on demand and inventory strategy.
• Work alongside finance to ensure demand forecasts align with financial targets and objectives.

Qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 3-5 years of experience in demand planning, ideally in fashion, apparel, or premium denim.
• Solid understanding of supply chain, inventory management, and demand forecasting processes.
• Expertise in Excel and data analysis tools.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate across departments.
• A keen analytical mindset and strong problem-solving abilities.
• Knowledge of trends in premium denim and the fashion industry is a plus.
