Job Overview:
The WOW Center is seeking a responsible and organized Temporary Cafeteria Worker. This person will be responsible for overseeing daily food program/distribution operations including the Adult Food Program. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities or vulnerable populations.
Work Schedule:
The nature of this role requires you to meet the needs of individuals on-site at The WOW Center. The schedule is Monday– Friday from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm.
Key Responsibilities:
Follows all Adult Food Care Program requirements and safe and sanitary meal distribution for special events and catering programs
- Receives all catered food daily
- Takes temperatures of all foods upon arrival and prior to be served.
- Serves lunch daily on plates and/or food trays
- Cart food to lunch areas
- Follows all Adult Food Care Program requirements.
- Take refrigerators and freezer temperatures daily, once in the morning and once in the afternoon.
- Keeps log of refrigerator and freezer temperatures.
- Keeps log of food temperatures.
- Will return food to catering company upon arrival to WOW if food temperatures do not fall in the safe zone
- Takes inventory of plates, cups silverware, etc. and turns in supply request form.
- Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies.
- Keeps log of the number of meals served per day.
- Keeps track of and monitors students' special diets.
- Communicates with catering company if there are any special activities.
- Maintains kitchen area and refrigerators clean and organized.
- Ensures that the quality of all food items is satisfactory according to Department/State Health Code Standards
- Prepares and answers questions from the health inspector during their visits.
Qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma or above
Experience: One (1) year of experience in food service industry preferred

Salary Range:
- The salary for this position is competitive within the market and industry standards, at $13/hour.
