OVERVIEW
At The Wright Community School, our mission is to empower students to grow, explore, and excel—“The WRIGHT Way.” We are a 6th–12th grade charter school approved by the State Charter Schools Commission of Georgia, serving students from Clayton, DeKalb, and Henry Counties. As a post-secondary exploration school, we aim to create a unique space where students discover who they are by nurturing curiosity, resilience, and leadership. By fostering an inclusive and caring community of educators, families, and community partners, we help students become P.I.L.O.T.S. (Proactive, Innovative, Literate, Organized, & Tenacious Scholars) of their own futures.

Start Date: July 1, 2025 | Stipend: $20,000 (10 month contracted, 2-3 days per week)

POSITION SUMMARY
At The Wright Community School, Teachers are committed to building a strong foundation of instructional leadership in the classroom. Whether you are an ELA, Math, Science, Social Studies/History, ESOL, Special Education, or CTAE teacher, or serve in a Lead role (Humanities or STEAM), your daily work will empower students to become active, curious, and confident learners.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (ALL TEACHERS)
Instructional Leadership
- Develop daily, weekly, and unit-level lesson plans aligned with state standards and school curriculum goals.
- Internalize, personalize, and execute daily lesson plans with joy, care, and a clear vision for student success.
- Establish and maintain consistent rules, routines, and procedures that foster a warm, supportive, and achievement-oriented classroom culture.
- Implement school-wide systems designed to ensure academic and behavioral alignment.
- Use a data-driven cycle of assessment, analysis, and action to inform instructional decisions and differentiate for diverse learner needs.
- Participate in an annual staff training prior to the fall school opening.
Families and Students
- Engage families through phone calls, home visits, conferences, and written communications to build strong partnerships.
- Champion holistic student development, facilitating personal growth and nurturing a sense of safety, security, and confidence in all students.
Compliance & Professional Growth
- Commit to the strategic goals of The Wright Community School.
- Adhere to all requirements outlined in personalized plans for student success (e.g., IEP, 504 Plans, Individualized Graduation Plans).
- Engage wholeheartedly in professional development, collaboration with peers, and continuous learning opportunities.
POSITION-SPECIFIC HIGHLIGHTS
CTAE (Law, Public Safety, Corrections & Security / Aviation) Teachers
- Align curriculum with industry standards in Law, Public Safety, Corrections & Security or Aviation pathways.
- Engage students with hands-on experiences, demonstrations, and projects related to career and technical skills.
- Integrate real-world scenarios and partner with industry professionals to enhance career readiness.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher (advanced degree preferred).
- Certification: Valid Georgia Teacher Certification in the appropriate content area preferred. For ESOL, CTAE, and Special Education, must hold or be eligible for the specific Georgia certification/endorsement.
- Experience:Full-time classroom experience in a school setting required.
- 1–3 years of teaching experience at the middle or high school level preferred.
- Skills & Competencies:Demonstrated alignment to the school’s mission, vision, and commitment to community engagement.
- Ability to create systems and structures for a new, growing charter school environment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented.
- Technology proficiency to enhance instruction and school operations.
- Background check required.

- Start Date: July 1, 2025
- Salary Range: $20,000 (10 month contracted, 2-3 days per week)
Work Hours: Contracted position beginning in July 2025; includes a mandatory summer training
