Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Instructor to join our after-school educational team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in working with children and a commitment to fostering an engaging learning environment. As an Instructor, you will be responsible for educating students, developing course materials, and facilitating discussions that enhance student understanding and engagement.
Duties
- Answers to the Lead Instructor.
- Monitoring student behavior during afternoon arrivals, meal periods, bathroom breaks, and
other duties.
- Assist with cleanliness of the campus.
- Answers to the Chief and Senior Instructors.
- Maintain general discipline on campus by ensuring that students are in designated areas.
- Assist other instructors and staff with monitoring class while in session.
- Make sure campus is a safe environment overall.
- Report any unruly behavior to Senior and/or Chief Instructor.
- Assists the Administrative Team with student disciplinary issues.
- Circulate through campus to assist other instructors with supervising all students.
- Respond to emergency situations such as injuries or food allergies in a proactive manner.
- Serves as a visible and active security presence on campus.
- Assist with security equipment, school safety assessments, etc.
- Serve as a mentor for Junior Instructors.
- Assist with school events and field trips (may require some overnight travel and evening hours)
- Transport students in assigned company vehicles.
- Perform other duties and tasks assigned.
Requirements
Current college student or recent graduate (no more than one year from graduation) preferred.
- Or have a degree from an accredited institution.
- Or have a high school diploma/GED.
- Some experience in law enforcement (not required but preferred).
- Knowledge of Georgia DOE safety policies, Student Code of Conduct, and School Safety Plan
- Great communication skills, oral and written.
- Ability to work in a team-based environment.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be comfortable working in an outdoor setting in a variety of weather conditions.
- Ability to diffuse differences through conflict resolution.
Must successfully complete a background check.
- Must complete mandated reporter training.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
