The Payroll HRIS Specialist is a key member of the Finance team, responsible for supporting accurate and timely payroll processing and maintaining data integrity within the HRIS system. This position ensures effective coordination between payroll and human resources functions, provides responsive customer service to internal stakeholders, and supports key components of the associate onboarding and pay processes. POSITION SUMMARY:
The Payroll HRIS Specialist is a key member of the Finance team, responsible for supporting accurate and timely payroll processing and maintaining data integrity within the HRIS system. This position ensures effective coordination between payroll and human resources functions, provides responsive customer service to internal stakeholders, and supports key components of the associate onboarding and pay processes. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Processes timely updates in the Ceridian Dayforce system in collaboration with the Payroll Manager to ensure accurate payroll for 2,000 employees.
- Provides high-quality customer service by responding to payroll-related inquiries from managers and associates and resolving discrepancies or issues efficiently.
- Manage the Rapid! pay card process, including issuance, troubleshooting, and ongoing support for associates.
- Completes the HRIS component of the new hire onboarding process, ensuring timely and accurate setup of employee profiles in the Dayforce system.
- Collaborates with the Finance team and department managers to ensure accurate assignment of work locations and proper general ledger (GL) coding.
- Serves as backup to the Payroll Manager for processing supplemental payments and core payroll functions as needed.
- Maintains confidentiality and integrity of all employee and payroll data.
EDUCATION
- A bachelor’s degree with experience in accounting or human resources OR five years of combined professional experience in accounting, office management, human resources and/or payroll capacities.
- At least 1 year of prior experience in financial or accounting capacity
- Working knowledge of payroll systems or human capital management systems
- Working knowledge of MS Excel
- Strong aptitude for working with numbers.
- Demonstrated customer service skills.
- Demonstrated skills in organization, communication and working within a team setting.
- Problem solving abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills necessary to effectively communicate with internal and external customers in order to assist and resolve questions and problems.
- Recommend and implement process improvements and updates to current procedures.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel and Google sheets.
- Strong attention to detail and accurate data entry.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Time management skills and the ability to work independently.
