Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Dog Daycare Attendant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing a safe, fun, and nurturing environment for dogs while their owners are away. Your primary focus will be to lead and coach staff on best practices for dog behavior management and on the care and well-being of the dogs, ensuring they receive proper attention, exercise, and socialization throughout the day. Responsibilities
- Support training and development of staff members
- Supervise and engage with dogs during playtime to ensure their safety and enjoyment.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary environment by regularly cleaning play areas, kennels, and equipment.
- Monitor the health and behavior of each dog, reporting any concerns to management.
- Assist with feeding schedules.
- Provide basic training commands to promote good behavior among the dogs.
- Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their dog's activities and needs.
- Ensure all safety protocols are followed to prevent accidents or injuries.
Requirements
- Previous experience in dog handling or animal care in a dog daycare setting.
- Leadership or supervisory experience.
- Strong customer service skills to interact positively with pet owners.
- Ability to handle various breeds and temperaments of dogs safely and effectively.
- Experience in dog training is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills for reporting observations about the dogs' behavior or health.
- Must be physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for extended periods.
- A genuine love for animals and commitment to their well-being is essential.
