POSITION SUMMARY

We consider our Warehouse Associates to be a vital cornerstone of our success. By maintaining the seamless flow of our day-to-day operations, they play a crucial role in empowering us to deliver unparalleled value to our customers. We are currently seeking a dedicated and reliable Part-Time Inspector - Warehouse Associate to join our team at our Stone Mountain, GA Distribution HUB.

Matthews International is a leading manufacturer of Caskets for the funeral industry. We are currently looking for a Part - Time Inspector to Inspect our finished caskets of any damages, scratches, defects as well as assist with the prepping of caskets for the distribution process.

This is an afternoon shift, 3pm - 6pm (possible for 4pm - 7pm) Monday - Friday. A great opportunity for a second job for anyone looking for additional work in the evenings.

Our Warehouse Associates can expect to work approximately 15 - 20 hours per week. This position will have a starting hourly pay rate of $20-hourly.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Inspect caskets in our HUB for any defects, scratches, dents, damages prior to them being shipped to our customers.
  • Prepares products for delivery prior to loading.
  • Prep the caskets for deliveries to minimize any damage during deliveries.
  • Unload product and place in appropriate storage facility within warehouse.
  • Maintains a clean warehouse; aware of potential safety hazards.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
  • 1 years of previous warehouse experience required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to work 5-6 hour shifts being on your feet, walking, pushing, pulling products.
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting.

  • Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk, hear and see.
  • Regularly lift and / or move up to 100 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Regularly exposed to wet and / or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold & heat, risk of electrical shock, and toxic or caustic chemicals.
  • The noise level in the work environment may be high.
  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions.
