POSITION SUMMARY
Matthews International is seeking a Local CDL A Driver to join our Transportation Team in Aurora, Indiana for our memorialization business segment.
The Local CDL A Truck Driver will be responsible for the delivery of raw materials and company products to and from our production facilities in the Richmond, IN areas as well as other vendors within a 2 - 4 hour radius.
The Driver will be driving a Manual Transmission Truck so must be comfortable with operating manual transmission.
- You will be driving commercial company vehicles from our Aurora, IN Facility to / from Richmond, IN.
- You will be responsible to comply with Federal Motor Carrier rules and regulations.
Our Drivers are home every day as well as weekends.
Competitive Starting Rate of 20.80 hourly with a .57c mile pay with additional reimbursement options and opportunities for increases. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Inspects truck for defects before and after trips and submits report indicating truck condition.Keeps driver log maintained according to ICC regulations.May assist workers in loading and unloading truck.May drive tractor with trailer and moffett (truck mounted forklift).May work as member of two-person team driving tractor with sleeper bunk behind cab.May assist with material handling using forkliftAdditional duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
Previous driving experience of a Class A vehicle.Commercial Driver’s License, CDL A license.Current DOT medical card or ability to obtain one.Experience operating CDL A vehicle with manual transmission.Completion of a training course at an accredited truck driving school preferred.Ability to work overtime as necessary.PHYSICAL ASPECTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT
