What You’ll Do:
As the Assistant Wastewater Superintendent, you will:
- Assist in the daily operations and maintenance of our wastewater treatment facilities.
- Supervise and mentor a skilled team, ensuring efficiency and compliance with regulations.
- Monitor and analyze operational data to optimize processes and maintain high standards.
- Support the Superintendent in strategic planning and project implementation.
- Be a key point of contact for regulatory agencies, ensuring compliance and reporting..
- Ensure the Company meets all wastewater reporting and operating requirements at the local, state, and federal levels.
- Prepare operating and capital budgets as assigned.
- Develop, maintain, and ensure standard operating procedures (SOPs) are being followed and fully implemented.
- Ensure the safety of surrounding area from hazardous releases by monitoring, assessing and acting on the implementation of new processes, procedures, installation of physical equipment that minimizes or eliminates potential risk of release.
- Be available for 24-hour call-out as needed.
- Consistently demonstrate positive and professional behavior with all individuals contacted on behalf of the Company.
- Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; mentoring, appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
What We’re Looking For:
- Education: Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school related field is preferred. Equivalent experience and certifications will be considered, along with a willingness to pursue further education if necessary.
- Experience: Candidates should have at least 3-5 years of supervisory or management experience, with prior wastewater treatment operations experience strongly preferred
- Certifications: A valid wastewater operator certification (Class B or higher) or the ability to obtain it within one year of hire.
- Skills: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills are essential for this role, as is the ability to effectively communicate and lead a team. Familiarity with regulatory compliance, safety practices, and reporting standards will be critical for success.
