Join Our Team as Engineering Project Manager
Are you an experienced project manager looking to make an impact in the water industry? York Water is seeking a Engineering Project Manager to assist with capital projects from planning to completion, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and innovation in our infrastructure. What You’ll Do:
- Oversee the planning, design, permitting, and construction of various capital projects.
- Define project scope, set goals, and create detailed project plans, establishing timelines and resource allocation.
- Ensure adherence to project budget and scope, identifying cost variances and implementing corrective actions.
- Track project progress, address potential delays, and proactively manage risks.
- Cultivate strong relationships with customers, consultants, contractors, and suppliers.
- Manage consultants, suppliers, and contractors engaged in York Water projects.
- Coordinate with regulatory agencies, including the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, for efficient utility management.
- Maintain accurate financial records and provide project status updates to stakeholders.
- Evaluate project performance and implement improvements for future initiatives.
- Perform work functions as a supervisor as part of the Operations Department’s supervisory on-call rotation.
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies, the governing union contract, and applicable laws and regulations.
What We’re Looking For:
- Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Project Management and a minimum of 4 years of related experience in the water/wastewater industry. Equivalent education and experience may be accepted.
- Certifications & Licenses: A valid PA driver’s license is required. A PA Water/Wastewater Operator’s License is required (or must be obtained within one year of hire). Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred. Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) or Professional Engineering (PE) licensure is a plus.
- Skills & Knowledge: Strong project management abilities, analytical mindset, and proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, GIS, and GPS software. Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to work indoors and outdoors, occasionally lift up to 25 pounds, and work additional hours during emergencies.
