What You’ll Do:
As a GIS Technician, you will:
- Maintain, update, and enhance the Company’s GIS database.
- Support the GIS Analyst in analyzing GIS data, running queries, and producing maps and reports.
- Assist in managing and archiving data related to company assets, such as drawings and specifications.
- Collect field data using GPS equipment and ensure its accurate integration into the GIS system.
- Support the maintenance and troubleshooting of GIS hardware and software.
- Coordinate with external agencies and respond to mapping data requests (e.g., PA One Call, government agencies).
- Provide technical support for GIS-related network and PC issues.
- Assist other departments with GIS-related tasks, both in the field and in the office.
- Perform quality assurance/quality control on historical mapping to ensure data accuracy.
- Consistently demonstrate professionalism and strong customer service when working with internal teams, customers, and outside contacts.
- Handle sensitive data and information with discretion and maintain equipment and data security.
What We’re Looking For:
- An Associate’s degree in GIS, Cartography, Geography, or a related field.
- Proficiency with ESRI GIS software, including ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online.
- Familiarity with workflow automation tools (e.g., Python, Model Builder) and GPS field collection methods.
- Ability to troubleshoot issues, manage project timelines, and communicate effectively with team members.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and reasoning skills, along with the ability to read and interpret technical and business materials.
- A professional demeanor and ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment
