POSITION SUMMARY:
Assist YMCA in all aspects of Child Watch. The position will incorporate Caring, Honesty, Respect, Responsibility, & Faith into all aspects of the program areas.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Security: Make sure that all parents sign in and sign out for their own child (ren); under no circumstances are children released to anyone else.
- Care: Interact with children, plan activities; follow procedures and disciple guidelines.
- Greet children and parents in a welcoming and friendly manner. Inform parents of Child Watch procedures and rules in the program. Inform parents immediately of any accidents or behavior problems.
- Complete incident reports, determine parents are members and keep accurate attendance records.
- Implementation of YMCA character development initiatives by teaching and role modeling our values of caring, honesty, respect, responsibility and faith.
- Every staff member will help keep our facilities clean: Picking up litter, cleaning up spills, delegating to department staff the responsibility to clean their work areas, and involve members in picking up after themselves.
- Member Service Promise: Follows through on practices and procedures to deliver on member service promise.
- Develop an understanding and commitment to the Annual Partners with Youth Campaign
- Other duties as assigned by the Business Manager

Upholding the YMCA’s commitment to the safety and well-being of youth in our programs is a core responsibility of all staff regardless of position.
- Attend required abuse risk management training.
- Adhere to policies related to boundaries with consumers.
- Adhere to procedures related to managing and supervising high-risk activities.
- Report suspicious or inappropriate behaviors and policy violations.
- Follow mandated abuse reporting requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum age of 15
- Child abuse prevention training within 90 days of hire date
- Ability to maintain certification-level physical and mental readiness
- Experience working with children preferred
- Must maintain professional appearance, strong communication, organization and administrative skills
- Must believe in YMCA’s philosophy and mission and willing to teach, model and implement character development values
- Must be flexible and maintain positive attitude
