Summary :
AutoZone's Senior Manager User Experience and Design drives best-in-class, user-centered experience and design for cross-platform, multi-device programs by supporting key product team partners, managing a team of UX and UI designers, providing competitive analysis and design research, product architecture, conceptual mockups, and delivering high-fidelity, production-ready comps.
AutoZone’s Senior Manager User Experience and Design will lead a team of UX and UI designers across a variety of digital products including websites, applications, and enterprise platforms. This person will be a strong advocate for design quality, consistency, and best-in-class user experience across our organization and will work closely with the product, research, brand, and operations teams. They will communicate and present ideas, strategies, and execution across all levels of the organization as well as attract, retain, and mentor talent focused on building best-in-class experiences.
Responsibilities :
- Lead and mentor a multi-level team of UX / UI designers. Provide guidance, support, assess performance regularly, and develop action plans that support professional development and career progression as per AutoZone's career development framework.
- Oversee use of AutoZone’s design system of digital components and advocate for adhering to standards set across the organization’s digital touchpoints.
- Work collaboratively with leadership, product, research, and tech leads to prioritize the overall design needs in a fast-paced Agile environment.
- Facilitate and lead collaborative brainstorming sessions and design workshops that cultivate a culture of inclusive and well-thought design.
- Review and participate in user research insights, both qualitative and quantitative, from the research and analytics teams and seek improvements for our customers with project partners.
- Take ownership of projects, design work, and maintain availability to help support designers to ensure the proper understanding of the design before, during, and after handoff.
- Review competitive analysis and best practices with designers to provide insight into the consumer market, trends, and our customer needs as it applies to specific projects.
- Effectively manage your team's time to ensure deadlines are met on time and within budget.
- Seek feedback; lead and participate in peer design reviews and critiques to influence the direction of design deliverables for various projects and campaigns.
- Help to define essential user journeys / experiences and functional requirements with a product team from a design perspective.
- Present design work back to business stakeholders and advise on experience design best practices.
- Work with digital agencies to support projects & activities to ensure experience design-related deliverables meet our quality standards and adhere to our brand guidelines.
