The CNC Lathe Machinist I would join a team of skilled professionals in our
Machining/Manufacturing/Assembly facility. You would be working with other members of the
manufacturing team regularly (manual machining, saw cut, assembly/service).

Position Description

The CNC Lathe Machinist I would join a team of skilled professionals in our
Machining/Manufacturing/Assembly facility. You would be working with other members of the
manufacturing team regularly (manual machining, saw cut, assembly/service).
Responsibilities
- Operate CNC equipment in a low-volume, high-mix environment (5 changeovers daily)
- Analyzing and grouping jobs to reduce set up times and maximize workflow.
- Conducting machine set ups in an efficient manner.
- Responsible for first piece inspection utilizing visual and hand inspection equipment, which
- would include: Vernier calipers, Micrometers and drop dial indicators.
- Excellent communication skills are required to interact directly with Supervisor/ Application
- Engineering/Programming to collaborate on process improvements.
- Mount, install, align, and secure tools, attachments, fixtures, and pieces on machines, using hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
- Stop machines to remove finished pieces or to change tooling, setup, piece placement, according to required machining sequences.
- Transfer commands from servers to computer numerical control (CNC) modules, using computer network links.
- Check to ensure that pieces are properly lubricated and cooled during machine operation.
- Review program specifications or blueprints to determine and set machine operations and
- sequencing, finished piece dimensions, or numerical control sequences.
- Other duties, as assigned.
- Some degree of CNC programming experience
- Requires average math skills, including ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
- Simple oral communication skills: ability to read and comprehend instructions.
- Must be physically able to handle heavy items including lifting, pushing, pulling, and
- Must be able to consistently stand for an entire 8 to 10-hour shift.
- Ability to work in a team setting.
- Reliable
- Minimum of three years’ experience in a machine shop, or one-year experience in a
- machine shop if a vocational school graduate.
- Knowledge of basic machining practices and materials is a plus, as is general
