Position Summary
The Plant Manager will have overall responsibility for this job shop manufacturing plant, which produces a high volume of small-run custom products. This position spends most of the time on the production floor itself, leading, supporting, and mentoring shop personnel. As more than 90% of all products run through the CNC machining departments, total familiarity with CNC machining processes and techniques is essential. This role requires a roll-up-your-sleeves, hands on approach to production management. The person who leads from behind a desk will not be successful. This role leads by example and is a change agent that demonstrates success in developing and implementing continuous improvement initiatives and accountability programs. The Plant Manager will drive growth, productivity and On Time Delivery metrics in this non-union environment. A strong existing team is in place and prospering. This talented Plant Manager will help them reach world class operational status.

Key Responsibilities
Responsible for achieving the following monthly targets and goals:
- Revenue
- On-time production and shipment of quality products with zero defects that meet or exceed customer requirements
- Past Due Backlog
- Productivity and Efficiency
- Gross Margin & EBITA
- Drive continuous improvement and employ best practices.
- Maintain a “safety first” culture through employee awareness, operating guidelines and procedures, training, and fulfillment of OSHA and company compliance requirements.
- Coach and mentor through feedback, performance management and development planning to build team capabilities and drive employee productivity and engagement.
- Identify training needs for personnel and initiate or approve programs to improve skill levels.
- Manage the workload of the shop to avoid potential bottleneck areas and assign overtime as needed.
- Support quality assurance programs to eliminate repetitive concerns, drive root cause and corrective action.
- Work collaboratively with Sales, Engineering, Purchasing, Finance, and other organizations within the business.
- Collaborate with Human Resource to establish recruiting, training and hiring strategies, including succession planning and career paths.
- Bachelor’s degree in a plus but may consider experience in lieu of education
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a CNC job shop manufacturing environment in a leadership role
- Demonstrated Leadership ability
- Strong planning, organizational and project management skills
- Must possess clear and concise written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the corporation
- Proficient in the use of ERP software such as Info Visual, Infor Syteline, Epicor Vantage, Microsoft Dynamics, SAP
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
- Ability to understand, analyze and act on financial data such as budgets
- Ability to create and manage metrics and key performance indicators
- Knowledge, background, and certification in six sigma and lean methodologies, principals, and concepts preferred
