Summary : The Manager of Systems Improvement supports efforts to grow and improve at * location. This role is dedicated to ThedaCare’s Process Improvement culture while transforming the ways improvements are conducted, communicated, and sustained. In collaboration with * leadership, this individual will plan, execute, inspire and further maintain a culture of continuous improvement with teams at *, utilizing the standardized QOS (Quality Operating System) platform. This individual will also share responsibility for translating system goals at all levels of the organization (senior leadership to front-line teams and leaders) and serve as primary coach for teams implementing proactive execution and improvement systems (Planning, Doing, Learning, and Adjustments of Key Changes).
Job Description:
Key Accountabilities
Organizes, leads/supports, and sustains the QOS (Quality Operating System) at * location for high performing, quality and efficient care, and scalable, transferable process improvements. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement and develop strategies to optimize processes.
Strategizes with Operational Leaders and frontline teams to connect ThedaCare vision and goals to frontline leadership to ensure process improvement for high leverage problems and/or goals and ensures documentation/implementation according to the ThedaCare Operating System (A3).
Coordinates, educates, and integrates data management to support leaders in the daily operational and improvement initiatives.
Coaches, trains, and mentors’ frontline employees, managers, and directors in the operational improvement tools to help accelerate change and continued sustained performance. Participates in rounding of the QOS Facility Rounds and assists these teams before / after for preparations / questions.
Leads/manages specific process improvement projects from inception to completion, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives, as assigned and directed.
Uses and teaches the use of data and KPIs to evaluate the effectiveness of implemented process improvements, making or recommending adjustments as necessary to achieve desired outcomes.
Uses and teaches the use of literature and professional organizations for new or revised best practices related to healthcare process improvement.
Develops and maintains process documentation, including process maps, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and performance metrics.
Fosters a culture of continuous improvement within the organization by promoting best practices and encouraging staff engagement in process improvement activities.
Prepares and presents reports on process improvement initiatives and outcomes to senior leadership.
Qualifications/REQUIRED Competencies (Skills):

Communication: verbal, writing, and presentation skills
Relationship Management: requires interpersonal skills to develop relationships with superiors, peers, and employees in order to provide effective consultation and collaboration
Organizing and Planning : able to develop strategies, prioritize multiple competing tasks, and carry out action plans
Problem Solving & Decision Making: Ability to identify and define data-based problems; develop potential root causes; and test. Capable of exercising sound judgment and making independent decisions
Composure : Demonstrated ability to respond calmly to stressful or ever-changing circumstances and work with people confidently across and throughout the organization.
Industry Knowledge (Healthcare): In-depth understanding of healthcare operations, regulations, and best practices.
Quality Systems Expertise: in-depth understanding of total quality/quality operating systems, rapid cycle improvement theory and human factor principles, process improvement methodologies, data/statistical analysis, process mapping, and performance measurement tools.
Data Analysis: Competency in Analytical skills to trend and analyze data
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Education: Bachelor’s degree in healthcare management, clinical care, or related field. Master's degree is a plus.
Experience: Minimum of five years clinical experience required; basic understanding of care processes provided in multiple healthcare settings.
Track Record: Proven track record of successfully implementing change in a complex healthcare environment.
Certification: Knowledge of and/ or Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent. Certification preferred
Physical Demands
Ability to move freely (standing, stooping, walking, bending, pushing and pulling) and lift up to a maximum of twenty-five (25) pounds without assistance
Job classification is exposed to blood borne pathogens (blood or bodily fluids) while performing job duties
Work Environment
Normally works in climate-controlled office environment
Frequent sitting with movement throughout office space
Use of computers throughout work day
Frequent use of keyboard with repetitive motion of hands, wrist and finger
