Role Summary:
ThedaCare is committed to expanding psychiatric care in the communities it serves by providing counseling through its psychiatric program.
This role involves working within ThedaCare Behavioral Health's Adult Psychiatry program, which provides mental health and substance use disorder treatment to adults throughout ThedaCare's seven-county region. As part of an ongoing effort, ThedaCare aims to enhance its services by adding another outpatient psychiatrist in Menasha, Wisconsin.
Key Responsibilities:
- See new patients and perform evaluations
- Provide medication checks
Collaboration and Support:
- Work with a team of Registered Nurses (RNs) who field patient requests and needs between visits
- Assist with ancillary needs for patients supported by Medical Assistants
- Liaise with a dedicated team of Psychiatric Hospitalists located in our newly renovated, adult inpatient unit at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center - Neenah
- Utilize Behavioral Health Collaboration Managers at the primary care level
- Patient access to same-day psychiatric and therapy services via the Behavioral Health Walk In Clinic
Team Dynamics:
- Part of a behavioral health division that includes six adult psychiatrists, four nurse practitioners, four adult psychiatric hospitalists, and 50 Mental Health/Substance Abuse Counselors
- Support staff assists physicians to provide exceptional patient care as part of an integrated system
Schedule and Call Requirements:
- Full-time schedule: Monday-Friday (flexible)
- Call schedule: 2-3 weeknights per month (Monday-Friday), no weekend call
