Buyer, Production Planner
We are looking for detail-oriented Senior & Mid-level Buyers to join our dynamic procurement team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in preparing purchase orders for materials, ensuring a seamless procurement process that supports our manufacturing operations. Your expertise will be instrumental in maintaining optimal inventory levels and enhancing our production efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Compile information and records to prepare accurate and timely purchase orders for materials.
- Ensure smooth and efficient procurement processes, maintaining inventory levels to meet production demands.
- Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to manage and resolve any issues related to procurement.
- Monitor and track order status, ensuring timely delivery and addressing any delays or discrepancies.
- Support manufacturing operations by ensuring the availability of necessary materials and resources.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated ability to fulfill essential duties effectively, with a strong attention to detail.
- Knowledge of Bill of Materials (BOM) in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with one of the following ERP systems: Sage ERP, SYSPRO, MS Dynamics, or Fishbowl.
- Background in manufacturing, with a thorough understanding of procurement processes.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field, or equivalent years of experience.
- Proven experience in procurement or a related industry, preferably within Electro-Mechanical, Capital Equipment, Industrial Machinery, or Electrical Industrial Control Components manufacturing environments.
Skills:
- Proficient in reading and interpreting documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write clear and concise reports and correspondence.
- Strong verbal communication skills, capable of effectively presenting information to groups of customers or employees.
- Competence in calculating figures and amounts, including discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Practical problem-solving skills to address issues involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
