Job Summary:
This position is responsible for executing installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting activities related to instrumentation, control, and electrical systems within production plants and laboratory facilities at the Hatfield, PA campus.

Key Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and repair shutdowns in production equipment and perform corrective actions to ensure equipment and plant operations can resume efficiently.
• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on equipment, system components, and utilities.
• Calibrate various instruments, including those that measure flow, weight, pressure, and temperature.
• Troubleshoot Allen-Bradley PLC/HMI systems to ensure optimal performance.
• Work with three-phase electrical systems and equipment, such as motors, generators, UPS systems, breakers, and transformers.
• Address issues in process loops, evaluating their impact on equipment functionality.
• Collaborate with industrial switch gears and control systems to ensure seamless operations.
• Interpret and update P&IDs and schematic wiring diagrams as necessary.
• Maintain compliance with NFPA 70E and NEC guidelines while working on electrical systems, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and production staff, providing updates on work progress and any issues encountered.
• Follow company policies and safety guidelines, including lockout/tagout procedures and near-miss reporting.
• Perform additional duties as required to support overall plant and equipment performance.

Qualifications:

• A minimum of three (3) years of hands-on experience in the controls, instrumentation, and electrical field, or equivalent formal training.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair PLCs, HMIs, drives, hydraulics, pneumatics, as well as basic mechanical and electrical systems.
• Competency in troubleshooting industrial control components, such as 4-20mA transmitters, electro-pneumatic control loops, solenoid valves, actuators, regulators, and PID controllers.
• Familiarity with industry standards, regulations, and codes.
• Proficiency with computers and software, with the capacity to learn new programs quickly.
• The role involves working in a manufacturing environment, requiring access to active work areas. Must be comfortable working in both indoor and outdoor settings, wearing safety gear, and performing physical tasks like stooping, bending, reaching, and standing for extended periods. The ability to move around and climb near live equipment is also necessary.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $28.38 - $30.20 per hour
