Electrical Technician Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Engineering Technician to join our team and collaborate with engineers and technologists in a dynamic work environment. This role involves supporting daily production activities through troubleshooting, problem-solving, critical thinking, and driving process improvements with a Lean Manufacturing focus. Key responsibilities include performing tests, collecting and analyzing data, assembling equipment, and documenting performance metrics. The Engineering Technician will also play a vital role in managing production quality by addressing non-conforming parts, identifying assembly trends, and implementing effective solutions. Ideal candidates are self-starters with a creative approach to problem-solving and a strong commitment to excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform testing, data collection, equipment assembly, and performance recording.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues with a critical and innovative mindset.
- Quarantine and manage non-conforming parts while evaluating and improving assembly trends.
- Develop and implement solutions to optimize manufacturing processes.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong problem-solving abilities and experience creating guides and flowcharts for future reference.
- Effective collaboration with diverse teams, including management, office staff, warehouse, and production personnel.
- Excellent listening skills to assess and address production needs, such as tooling requests.
- Proficiency in creating and maintaining instructional and pictorial guides.
- Experience documenting tools and parts, including part numbers, for manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with detailed record-keeping and documentation systems, such as NCR (Non-conforming Report), RMA (Return Material Authorization), and ECN (Engineering Change Notice).
- Understanding of manufacturing production improvements and methodologies.
- Experience in inventory control is advantageous.
- Hands-on fabrication skills, including creating tools, building process aids, and assembling parts with hand tools, power tools, or machinery.
- Knowledge of ISO/AS9100 processes and the ability to develop work instructions within a Lean Manufacturing framework.
