Theo Medical Dermatology, located in Apopka, FL, is looking for candidates who are interested in a Dermatology Radiation Therapist position with a flexible schedule. We provide superficial radiation therapy at our office location and many skilled nursing facilities, assisted living facilities, and home visits across Central Florida. Position
- Dermatology Radiation Therapist
- Schedule is flexible at Per Diem / PRN
- Treatment of Non-melanoma skin cancers of Office and Nursing Facility Patients
- Schedule would be to travel skilled nursing/assisted living facilities in mobile unit
Duties Include
- Verifies and administers prescribed doses of radiation to the specific sites in accordance with the prescription defined by the dermatologist.
- Positions patients for treatment with accuracy according to the prescription.
- Enter data into the computer and set controls to operate and adjust equipment and regulate dosage in accordance to the prescription.
- Conduct most treatment sessions independently and under the general direction of the patient's physician.
- Assist the Dermatologist in localization and simulation and documentation of the lesion to be treated.
- Photograph treatment areas of the patient and document.
- Check for side effects of the skin such as skin irritation, erythema, blistering, moist desquamation and report to the Dermatologist.
- Prepare and construct custom protection devices for patient treatment.
- Educate, prepare, and reassure patients and their families by answering questions, providing physical assistance, and reinforcing physicians advice regarding treatment reactions, and post-treatment care.
- Performs daily warm-up and QA of the SRT machine prior to the start of treatments each day as prescribed by the manufacturer.
- Follow principles of radiation protection for the patient, self, and others.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Graduate of a Regionally Accredited Program for Radiation Therapy, is ARRT certified in Radiation Therapy R.T. and licensed by the state Florida
- Strong verbal, writing and interpersonal skills.
- Effective analysis and problem solving skills.
- Strong time management skills, as well as excellent punctuality.
- Ability to work as a team.
Required License and Certification
- RTT Board Certification in the state of Florida and ARRT certification
