What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dermatology Patient Care Transport position at Theo Medical Dermatology?
Theo Medical Dermatology is seeking a compassionate and skilled Patient Care Transporter. The position involves someone who will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of our mobile van as well as patients. The candidate would be driving our mobile van to long-term care facilities while also assisting with patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate and transport the mobile dermatology van to and from scheduled locations.
- Assist in setting up and preparing the mobile unit for daily operations.
- Provide support to the therapist during patient treatments.
- Greet and transport patients, ensuring a welcoming and comfortable experience.
- Assisting patients in and out of the mobile unit and treatment areas.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the mobile unit, including sanitizing equipment and treatment areas.
- Ensure the mobile unit is properly stocked with medical supplies and equipment.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, including infection control and HIPAA guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and practice staff.
- Assist with administrative tasks, such as managing patient records, as needed.
- Maintain a professional and empathetic demeanor at all times.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Experience driving larger vehicles, such as vans or ambulances, is strongly preferred.
- Prior experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in patient care, is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Physical ability to lift, push, and pull patients and equipment as needed.
- Certifications and licenses that apply.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in dermatology
- EVOC (Emergency Vehicle Operations Course) training in Florida OR CDL (Commercial Drivers License)
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to assist patients with mobility needs.
