Job Description: Theoris Services is assisting our clients in the search for a Data Governance Analyst. In this remote position you will be working on a team with three others, to help manage governance standards by influencing the design of the enterprise governance standards and assist in the implementation. These enterprise data governance standards will transform how the enterprise leverages data to uncover insights and drive decision making. This role requires an understanding of metadata standards, data management, and the ability to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions. You will be responsible for maintaining metadata repository and supporting automation efforts to ensure the integrity and accessibility of data assets.
Requirements:
- Must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder
- 7 Years of Data Governance experience
- End to end data governance experience including Data glossary work, technical metadata work and working with business users on adoption.
- Experience with Microsoft Purview
- Understanding of advanced analytics in data governance from a cloud perspective, with experience in new transformation around data analytics vs old monolithic data warehouse governance
- Experience managing and enhancing enterprise metadata management (data catalog) systems and process for organizational integration
- Experience working with data producers and consumers to incorporate metadata into an enterprise
- Experience working with Data related business requirements.
- Possess strong working knowledge of Data Glossary’s and Data producer, data restrictions.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and enhance enterprise metadata management (i.e., data catalog) system and processes for integrating it into the organization.
- Facilitate and collaborate with the data producers and consumers to incorporate the domain metadata into the enterprise metadata management system.
- Collaborate with data practitioners to ensure that data governance processes are embedded and embraced, and that data is accurately classified and managed.
- Contribute to the creation and maintenance of data governance documentation, including processes, standards and work level instructions.
- Collaborate with vendors and third-party partners to evaluate and select technology solutions that align with architectural principles and business goals.
- Work with Cloud data governance tools (Microsoft Purview) and advanced analytics in an Azure cloud environment
- Assist with putting a backlog of data glossary terms into Purview
