Job Summary :
The Senior Software Test Engineer will be responsible for the development, maintenance, and execution of the software test strategy for 1-3 Scrum teams. The position will be customer facing and interface directly with project stakeholders both internal and external to the organization.
Duties / Responsibilities :
- Provide Subject Matter Expertise to supported scrum teams regarding the preparation and execution of software testing strategy in accordance with organizational process guidelines.
- Drive the development of software infrastructure for automated test solutions including unit testing, module / component integration testing, and full system integration testing.
- Provide T&E technical and engineering support by documenting the test concept development, test methodology development, test plan development, test execution, and test reporting, data reduction and analysis, and end-user operational testing.
- Independently prepare (or advise others in the preparation of) criteria, computation / analyses, specifications, and technical reports in the specific area of technical expertise.
- Select and apply engineering techniques and procedures to analyze and evaluate specific problems, data, or other features of the work which are broad in scope and complexity.
- Review and evaluate the quantity, quality, and overall adequacy of results and conclusions drawn from accomplishment of test engineering tasks.
- Devise new and innovative approaches to problems encountered, and accomplish assigned tasks with efficiency, timeliness, and thoroughness.
- Evaluate the configuration, capability, and operational relevance of test environments and ensure they are properly available for the thorough testing of software releases (e.g. fault insertion / fault identification).
- Operate with general instructions; but select portions of work are reviewed in detail to measure adequacy of approach, execution, and presentation.
- Support data collection and user engagement events.
- Support the Department Test Lead in refining and implementing global test strategy.
Required Skills / Abilities :
Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
Education and Experience :
A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Physics, or Math from an ABET-accredited educational program plus 10 years of directly related experience. A Master’s degree in any of the preceding disciplines may be substituted for one year of general experience.
