Job description
The Behavioral Health Therapist has an integral role in fulfilling the agency’s vision and mission to provide a safe, healing space for all clients receiving care within our organization. Therapeutic Empowerment & Wellness specializes in addressing a wide range of mental health concerns, including but not limited to anxiety, depression, mood-related issues, addiction, and co-occurring disorders. Clinical services provided by the Behavioral Health Therapist include mental health assessments, individual, group, couples and family therapy, and care coordination.
The Behavioral Health Therapist is expected to adhere to the highest standards of care in compliance with local, state and federal laws, in accordance with COMAR regulations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Conducts clinical assessments and diagnostic evaluations.
· Provides individual, group, couples, and family therapy to individuals presenting with mental health disorders.
· Documents clinical contacts utilizing HMW’s documentation standards.
· Submits documentation within 48 hours of service delivery.
· Develops thorough, timely treatment plans, utilizing SMART goals and objectives.
· Establishes and maintains ethical and therapeutically appropriate relationships with clients.
· Displays a willingness to learn and implement new treatment techniques and modalities.
· Displays a willingness to develop skills in working with diverse treatment populations.
· Consults with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care.
· Makes referrals to internal and community resources as needed.
· Effectively identifies, reports, and manages emergency situations.
· Obtains clinical supervision at the frequency identified by the Clinical Director based on experience and licensure status.
· Attends weekly clinical meetings and monthly trainings as scheduled.
· Participates in peer review and peer consultation and group supervision as scheduled.
· Understand sand implements TEW policies and procedures.
· Complies with all agency policies and procedures in accordance with licensing standards.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS and QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
· The candidate must possess a Master’s Degree in Social Work or Professional Counseling
Knowledge
· Knowledge of accrediting regulations to maintain compliance with state and federal regulations.
· Capacity to respond to emergency and/or crisis situations, using sound judgment by taking appropriate actions consistent with Therapeutic Empowerment & Wellness policy and procedures

Experience:
· Prior clinical experience
· Experience working in an Outpatient Mental Health setting preferred.
· Knowledge of diverse modalities of counseling and diagnostic principles
· Knowledge of, and ability to, apply counseling and diagnostic theories and techniques to a full range of diverse client populations.
Skills:
Clinical Skills- Maintains an ethical practice (e.g., awareness of ethical standards and conduct); demonstrates strong client relationships and interpersonal skills (e.g., establishes and maintains rapport, accurately perceives, and understands clients, and maintains role boundaries)
Job Types: Part-time, Contract
Pay: $53.50 - $58.96 per hour
