About Us:
Therapitas is an outpatient pediatric therapy company committed to serving Spanish-speaking families across Oklahoma. We provide a range of pediatric therapies to support children in reaching their developmental milestones and enhancing their overall well-being. Our team is expanding, and we’re looking for a dedicated Pediatric Therapy Technician to support our virtual speech therapists and work directly with children to foster growth and improvement.
Job Description:
As a Pediatric Therapy Technician, you will work closely with our speech therapists to facilitate virtual speech therapy services. You will help facilitate therapy sessions, prepare materials, bring patients from the waiting room into our virtual therapy office, and provide hands-on support to children during their treatment plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist pediatric therapists in carrying out therapy activities for children with speech impairments
- Guide patients from the waiting room to and from the virtual therapy room.
- Support children in executing specific tasks or exercises as instructed by the virtual therapist.
- Maintain a safe and supportive environment during therapy sessions.
- Communicate effectively with parents/caregivers and the supervising therapist.
- Ensure therapy areas are clean, organized, and stocked with necessary materials.
- Provide encouragement and emotional support to children, creating a positive and motivating therapy environment.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with children in a healthcare or therapy-related setting (preferred).
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with children and their families.
- Patience, empathy, and an understanding of child development and behavior.
- Ability to work collaboratively with therapists and other healthcare professionals.
- Previous experience with children who have special needs is preferred.
- Spanish-speaking and able to provide interpretation between Spanish-speaking families and an English-speaking SLP
