Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented Insurance/Billing Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in medical billing, insurance verifications and authorizations, and working with electronic medical records (EMR) systems. This role requires excellent organizational skills, strong communication abilities, and a commitment to providing outstanding service to our patients and their families.
Responsibilities:
- Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits.
- Obtain insurance authorizations for therapy services.
- Generate and send invoices from our EMR system.
- Apply payments to open invoices as necessary.
- Review and manage patient billing accounts.
- Contact insurance companies and patients as necessary to resolve issues, including claim denials, coverage questions, and outstanding unpaid invoices.
- Reviewing and explaining patients' insurance coverage and benefits to ensure understanding and accuracy.
- Address patient inquiries related to their account balances, insurance coverage, and claims.
- Communicate with insurance companies regarding claims, denials, and necessary documentation.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date billing records.
- Collaborate with therapists and administrative staff to ensure seamless billing processes.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a clinical setting preferred.
- Experience working with insurance companies, including authorizations and verifications.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems; experience with Fusion Web Clinic is a plus.
- Experience reviewing and explaining patients' insurance coverage and benefits.
- Experience preparing and sending invoices.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain billing matters to patients and families.
- Experience communicating with insurance companies regarding claims and denials.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Experience reviewing patient billing accounts and resolving claim-related issues.
Schedule: Part-time position (~20 hours per week), with potential for full-time expansion.
