What are the responsibilities and job description for the Patient Services Specialist | Austin, Texas *MUST LIVE IN AUSTIN/SAN ANTONIO/SURROUNDING AREAS position at Therapy 2000?
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Locate a therapist to provide treatment for the referral. Locate new therapists available for new referrals. Communicate with referral source (RS) of outcome of admission. Makes decisions choosing the best matched therapist for the patient. Creates therapists work-list, assigns patients based on quota.
- Receive and process patient referrals and gather all required information and documents needed.
- Prepares and faxes physician notifications
- Processes orders from medical software to the physician and receives same orders when signed
- Follows up on orders needing signatures to continue patient care
- Manages Discharge documentation and notifications
- Makes decision to make referral a non-admission, and submit to waiting list.
- Maintains a clean and organized office environment at all times
- Processes medical record requests
- Sends out and receives satisfaction surveys
- Verifies payer source.
- Enters notes into CubHub or other medical software.
- Communicates with the patients Primary Care Giver (PCG), within forty-eight hours, to explain staffing and admissions process. Keeps documentation in CubHub.
- Communicates with case managers, therapy directors and business office specialist to solve patient care issues.
- Submits monthly reports as directed: staffing, productivity, patient waiting list, referred outpatient list.
- Maintains a positive and professional attitude at all times when interacting with RS, PCG, doctors office personnel, agency clients, visitors, or THERAPY 2000 personnel.
- Is flexible and able to perform a wide variety of administrative support functions. These functions can include, but are not limited to data entry documentation, printing reports, filing, typing, and note taking.
- Performs all duties in compliance with agency policies and procedures.
- High School graduate, some college course work preferred.
- Ability to multi-task, above average organizational skills required.
- Ability to handle job assignments under pressure and delegate tasks.
- Excellent administrative, communication, detail-oriented, organizational, and follow-up skills required.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite software applications required, MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook. Medical software,
- Operation of business machines required: PC, FAX, Copier, telephone, and ten-key.
- Experience in medical front office, in-take department, doctors office is preferred.
- Multi-linguistic skills, ability to speak, read and write more than one language.
