Call Rotation:
- Monday – Friday: 4:30 PM – 7:30 AM
- Saturday – Sunday: 7:00 AM – 7:00 AM
- Including holidays

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Interventional Radiology Procedural RN to provide specialized care for patients undergoing interventional radiology and CT procedures. The ideal candidate will possess strong critical thinking skills, be adaptable to new environments, and excel at patient assessment and procedural sedation.
Key Responsibilities
✔ General patient assessment (head-to-toe) & early recognition of complications
✔ Implement radiation safety measures when applicable
✔ Educate and communicate with patients, families, radiologists, and the care team
✔ Make critical decisions and act in emergency situations
✔ Adapt quickly to different environments and multitask across departments
✔ Provide effective patient care by troubleshooting challenges as they arise
Top Diagnoses & Procedures
Invasive Procedures (with Sedation):
- Port Placements/Removals
- Tunneled & Non-Tunneled Line Placements/Removals
- CT Biopsies (Liver, Lung, Deep Bone, Bone Marrow, Renal, Lymph Node)
- Chest Tube Placements
- CT-Guided Drain Placements
- IVC Filter Placements/Removals
- Nephrostomy Tubes
- Neurovascular Interventions for Stroke
Non-Invasive Procedures:
- Sedation for MRIs
- Port Access/Deaccess MRI Defibrillator/Cardiac Device Monitoring
Infrequent/Special Procedures:
- Chemo Embolizations
- Uterine Artery Embolizations
Common Medications Used
Versed, Fentanyl, Cefazolin, Levaquin, Lidocaine, Nitroglycerin Spray
Rad Nurses do NOT manage Propofol drips or pressors
Common Equipment Used
Computer, ISTAT, ACT Machine, Penumbra, IV Pump, Vital Sign Machine
Nurse-Patient Ratio
1:1 for procedural sedation
Required & Preferred SkillsLine Management Skills:
Required: IV Insertion, PICC/Central Line Management, Vascular Device Access & Care
Preferred: CVP
Cardiac Skills:
Required: Telemetry Interpretation, Cardioversion/Defibrillation
Preferred: Sheath Removal
Airway Skills:
Required: Procedural Sedation
OBGYN/OR Skills:
Required: Circulate
