Responsibilities:
- Perform all phases of physical therapy treatment and documentation.
- Participate in treatment program planning and administer therapy modalities under the guidance of a Physical Therapist.
- Document accurate patient records and progress notes.
- Maintain communication with the supervising Physical Therapist, co-workers, and the public.
- Ensure a safe work environment by addressing unsafe conditions in the home and giving appropriate instructions for their correction.
- Assist the Physical Therapy Supervisor with quality improvement tasks as required.
- Participate in departmental functions and activities, including in-service education and clerical tasks.
Coverage Area:
- Includes but is not limited to Avila Beach, San Simeon/Cambria, and Creston. May float outside of this area depending on patient volume and staffing needs.
Qualifications:
- Experience: One (1) year of Acute Care or SNF experience within the last 5 years required.
- Education: Graduate of an accredited physical therapy assistant program.
- Licensure: Licensed as a Physical Therapy Assistant in the State of California (LIC PTA). California Driver's License (CA DL) with liability insurance. Current CPR certification through the American Heart Association (CT CPRBLS).
- Special Skills: Effective oral and written communication skills. Good interpersonal skills. Knowledge of physical therapy principles, techniques, and procedures. Ability to organize and prioritize work efficiently. Ability to function in a team environment and collaborate with other patient-care team members, physicians, patients, and their families. Ability to teach physical therapy techniques to patients and their families. Able to work with minimal supervision.
