Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Pediatric Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) or Speech-Language Pathology Assistant to support students in a school setting. The SLP or SLPA will provide therapy services to children with speech, language, communication, and related disorders. The ideal candidate will be passionate about helping students achieve their communication goals and committed to creating a positive, supportive learning environment. Sign on bonus available.


Full-time: This is a full-time position and follows a 9-month school schedule. The position would begin in August 2025. You will continue to have benefits year-round.


About Us: TherapyWorks was founded in 1981 and provides speech, physical, occupational, feeding, and aquatic therapy in our Tulsa area clinic and in schools throughout Northeast and Central Oklahoma. We have over 70 employees and are continuing to grow! This position is in a school setting.

Responsibilities:

For SLP:

  • Assessment and Evaluation: Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify speech and language disorders and determine students' eligibility for services.
  • Treatment Planning: Develop individualized education programs (IEPs) and treatment plans based on evaluation results, student needs, and school goals.
  • Therapy Delivery: Provide individual and group therapy sessions focusing on speech sound production, language development, fluency, voice, and communication needs.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support student progress and generalization of skills in the classroom and at home.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of therapy sessions, progress reports, IEPs, and assessments in compliance with school policies and state regulations.
  • Supervision: If applicable, supervise the work of Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) and other support staff.
  • Professional Development: Stay updated on current practices, research, and regulations in speech-language pathology, and participate in school-based professional development activities.


For SLPA:

  • Assist with Therapy: Provide therapy sessions under the supervision of a licensed SLP, following established treatment plans and IEP goals.
  • Data Collection: Collect and document student performance data during therapy sessions and report progress to the supervising SLP.
  • Support Services: Assist in the preparation of materials, scheduling of therapy sessions, and coordination of group activities.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other school staff to support the implementation of student communication goals.
  • Administrative Duties: Help maintain student records, therapy logs, and other required documentation as directed by the supervising SLP.


Qualifications:

For SLP:

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Current state licensure and certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) (Certificate of Clinical Competence, CCC-SLP).
  • Experience working in a school or pediatric setting preferred.
  • Understanding of special education laws, including IDEA and IEP processes.


For SLPA:

  • Certificate of Speech-Language Pathology Assisting from an accredited program.
  • Current state licensure/certification as an SLPA.
  • Experience working with children, ideally in a school or educational setting.
  • Ability to work effectively under the supervision of a licensed SLP.
